Trash Pickup in and Around Franklin

Franklin is the Heard County seat, about 980 residents on roughly 3.2 square miles of land in the Census Bureau's figures, and the county Administration Building here is one of three places that sells the county trash permit. Roopville sits just over the line in Carroll County. The street address decides whether we can pick up, so have it ready when you call.

Nearby towns we also serve: trash pickup in Centralhatchee, trash pickup in Ephesus, and trash pickup in Roopville.

Questions About Trash Pickup Near Franklin

Do all Franklin addresses get the same answer?

No. Heard County lists all six of its convenience centers with a Franklin mailing address, even though they sit in different parts of the county, so a Franklin address reaches well past the town. Give us the street address and we will check it.

Which Heard County center is open on a Monday?

Only Old Field Road. On the daylight-saving schedule it is open Monday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday and Friday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The other five centers are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only, so Tuesday is the one weekday Old Field Road is closed.

Does a curbside cart replace the county permit?

We do not sell permits or run any county site. The permit is the county's rule for using its convenience centers, and our cart service is separate from it.

Heard County Drop-Off From Franklin

Heard County runs six convenience centers: Centralhatchee, Cooksville, Lane Road, Northwest Highway 100, Old Field Road and Victory Road. Five of them keep the same short week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Old Field Road is the odd one out, with Monday, Wednesday and Friday hours too, and it is the one the county notes will take large items at $50.00 per ton with a $5.00 minimum. A valid trash permit is required at all six, and the county's permit page lists it at $75, or $25 for residents 65 and older.

Hours change between daylight saving time and winter, so use the county's center list before a trip. Our Heard County dump hours guide lists every site's address and both schedules, and our Heard County page links the official pages.
