Questions About Trash Pickup Near Roopville
What does the county convenience center not take?
Per the county, as of October 2026, the convenience centers do not accept hazardous materials, liquid waste, tires, construction debris or yard debris. Tires, larger loads and yard debris go to the county transfer station, where fees apply.
Do you serve homes on the Heard County side of the line near Roopville?
We serve homes in both Carroll County and Heard County, with a page for each. Coverage depends on the exact address, so call (470) 943-3355 and we will confirm it.
Do Carroll County's rules apply on the Heard side?
No. Heard County runs its own convenience centers and requires a valid trash permit at each one. Carroll County's ten sites are for Carroll County residents.
Is Roopville its own town?
Yes. The Census Bureau lists Roopville as an incorporated town, with an estimated 244 residents in 2024 on about 0.8 square mile of land. With a footprint that small, the street address matters more than the name on the mailing label, so we check it before we say yes.

Before You Haul It to the County
Two county centers sit on Highway 5, one on each side of Roopville: Highway 5 West, in the Tyus community outside Bowdon, and Highway 5 East, in the Lowell community. Each is about five miles from the Census Bureau's center point for Roopville in a straight line. Both are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tyus takes Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Lowell takes Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, so between them every day from Monday through Saturday has a site open.
What the centers refuse is the other half of the trip. Tires, construction debris and yard debris go to the county transfer station on Simonton Mill Road, which charges fees. The county's annual pass starts January 1, 2027, per The Georgia Sun, and our Carroll County guide lists every site and the pass prices.
