Questions About Trash Pickup Near Carrollton

Does Bowdon Disposal pick up inside Carrollton city limits?

Carrollton runs its own pickup inside the city limits, and our service here is for nearby unincorporated parts of Carroll County. Call (470) 943-3355 with the street address and we will tell you which side of the line it falls on.

How do I tell whether my address is in the city or the county?

Your property tax bill shows the county and, for city residents, the city. A Carrollton mailing address alone does not always settle it.

Where do furniture, tires and yard debris go from a Carrollton home?

The convenience centers turn those away. The county sends them to its transfer station on Simonton Mill Road, open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed Sunday, where fees apply. The station's number is 770-832-1233.

County Drop-Off Options Around Carrollton

Three county centers are within about six miles of the middle of Carrollton, in a straight line from the Census Bureau's center point for the city. Newnan Road, about three miles out, is off Highway 16 South, west at the roundabout south of West Georgia Technical College. Simonton Mill Road, to the southwest, is about four miles out, and Dyer Road about six. Simonton Mill is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Newnan Road and Dyer Road run Monday through Saturday on the same hours and open again Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.

Recycling is where the three differ. Per the Keep Carroll Beautiful list, Newnan Road and Dyer Road are the only two county sites that take cardboard, or aluminum cans as a separate material, and both also take glass bottles and jars. Simonton Mill Road is garbage only. It is also where the county transfer station sits, for the loads the convenience centers refuse.

The county will require an annual pass at its sites starting January 1, 2027, The Georgia Sun reports: $50 per household, or $25 for residents 65 and older. Our Carroll County guide has every site and the pass details.
