Questions About Trash Pickup Near Waco

Does Waco have its own convenience center?

Not by the county's list. Haralson County's six centers carry Bremen, Buchanan and Tallapoosa addresses, and none lists Waco. The county says Waco residents get the permit free.

Can I get curbside pickup in Waco?

It can, if the address is in Georgia and inside our service area. Call (470) 943-3355 with the street address and a person will check it.

Where do I get the Haralson County permit?

At the Commissioner's Office in Buchanan, which issues one permit per household. Buchanan is the county seat, about seven miles north of the middle of Waco in a straight line. The county lists the permit as free for Waco, Buchanan and unincorporated Haralson County.

Where does the county send bigger loads?

The county's newcomer page lists the Haralson County Landfill, in Tallapoosa, for household trash, metal, furniture, tires and similar items. Call 770-574-5414 before you go, since some fees may apply.

Haralson County Drop-Off for Waco Residents

None of the county's six convenience centers lists a Waco address. Two carry Bremen addresses, three Buchanan and one Tallapoosa, so the Waco household picks one of those. The schedule is the same everywhere: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At the gate you need a current county permit, which the newcomer page lists as free for Waco residents. The centers also take bulk waste and recyclables, up to 10 bags of household garbage a trip.

Anything bigger goes to the Haralson County Landfill on Budapest Cemetery Road in Tallapoosa, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Haralson County guide on this site lists every location.
