Here’s what Haralson County homeowners should know before picking a trash service.

Who We Serve in Haralson County

Bowdon Disposal is a neighbor-owned trash company based in West Georgia, and Haralson County is part of our home territory. We serve residential customers in these Haralson County towns:

We also serve neighboring Carroll County and Heard County. If you’re not sure whether your address is covered, call us at (470) 943-3355. A real person answers, and they can tell you in a minute.

How Weekly Curbside Service Works

Standard service is simple. You get a signature 95-gallon red cart, and our crew empties it every week on your assigned pickup day. You roll the cart to the road the night before your pickup day, and we take it from there.

A few habits make trash day go smoothly:

  • Bag and tie your trash. Tied bags keep things tidy inside the cart and help keep animals and odors down.
  • Keep each bag under about 50 pounds. Lighter bags are easier on your back and on our crew.
  • Close the lid completely. Nothing should hang out of the cart.
  • Set the cart at the road with room around it. Leave space on all sides so it can be emptied cleanly.

That’s really all there is to it.

Choosing the Right Plan for Your Household

Haralson County has a nice mix of in-town neighborhoods and rural homes with longer driveways, so the right plan depends on how you live.

Standard curbside pickup

  • 1 cart: $30/month, or about $27.50/month on the annual plan ($330/year)
  • 2 carts: $60/month
  • 3 carts: $90/month

Quarterly plans bill every three months for the same weekly service. Annual billing is the best value. Pricing is all-in and transparent, with no hidden, fuel, or environmental fees. A one-time $25 processing fee applies when you start a recurring plan.

Trash Butler (door-to-door)

If rolling a heavy cart down a long gravel driveway sounds like a chore, Trash Butler might be a better fit. Our crew drives up your driveway to wherever you keep your cart, empties it, and returns it to the same spot. You never move the cart at all.

  • 1 cart: $45/month, or about $42.50/month on the annual plan
  • 2 carts: $75/month
  • 3 carts: $105/month

It’s a good match for seniors, folks with mobility challenges, busy families, and anyone with a steep or long driveway. It’s also handy if you’re caring for an aging parent in Bremen or Tallapoosa and want one less thing on the list.

Not sure how many carts you need? Our plan customizer asks a few quick questions and points you to the right fit.

What Happens After You Sign Up

We try to make starting service easy, so here’s what to expect:

  1. Sign up online at bowdondisposal.com/customize. It takes about two minutes.
  2. Your red cart is delivered to your driveway within 24 to 48 hours. Every signup goes on the next available route.
  3. You get a text message from our system with your assigned pickup day and time. That text arrives within the same 24 to 48 hour window.

You don’t need to guess or call around to find out your pickup day. Your text tells you, and from then on you just roll the cart out the night before.

What Stays Out of Your Cart

Your cart is for regular bagged household trash. A few things should never go in, because they can hurt our crew or damage equipment:

  • Batteries of any kind
  • Tires
  • Large appliances
  • Electronics like TVs, monitors, and computers
  • Propane tanks and pressurized cans
  • Hazardous materials such as chemicals, pesticides, and motor oil
  • Construction debris
  • Yard waste, which goes to your county convenience center

Bulky items like couches and mattresses aren’t part of curbside cart service either, so those go to your county landfill. If you’re ever unsure about an item, just call us at (470) 943-3355 before it goes in the cart.

Why Locals Choose a Locally Owned Trash Company

When your trash company is part of the community, things feel different. When you call, a real person answers. There’s no contract holding you in, and you can cancel anytime. Our readers voted us Best Sanitation Service in West Georgia in the Times-Georgian Readers’ Choice awards in 2024, 2025, and 2026, every year we’ve been in business, and we don’t take that lightly.

We’re your neighbors, and we want trash day to be the least stressful part of your week.

Forgot to Set Your Cart Out?

It happens to everyone. If you forget to roll your cart to the road on your pickup day, our OOPS! I Forgot the Trash service is a $25 one-time rescue. Existing customers can request it through their account, with no membership required. It’s there for the mornings you wake up and realize the cart is still by the house.
